The Way the Sage Follows the Tao

“In seeking Tao, the sage follows the way of water, the path of least resistance, the path of wuwei. The sage understands the mystery of matter, the pull of the yin. She gives up the struggle to make things go her way but, like the Shaman Wu, she waits and watches until she can see the way of the rivers, of land and sea. And then she flows. Through the understanding of the yin, the sage, like the river flowing to the sea, returns to origin. She becomes like a mother carrying a child in her womb. She gives up personal striving and opens her self to the world. In this way she aligns her personal will with a greater power, the way of Tao.”
